P6 rounded of their World Around Us topic with a trip to Enniskillen Workhouse. Catherine guided us round and shared so many stories about what life was like during famine times in Enniskillen. We got to see the actual workhouse door, the workhouse bell and a list of inmates from famine times. We were all amazed to hear the stories about the workhouse shoes too. We walked to the Paupers grave and Famine Memorial in Cornagrade. So much history on our doorstep.
