P3/4 recently visited Enniskillen castle as part of their WAU topic. They learnt so many things about the different parts of the castle including which part was the oldest and strongest, what castle life was like, what was eaten at castle banquets and how the castle would have defended itself. They even learned that sometimes children would have drank beer as it was cleaner than water! We finished the day by writing our own set of castle rules with real quills and ink. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed all that Catherine and Julian taught us during our trip.
